We know what the main blasters that Hascorp has in store for us this fall are. We've all seen the Demolisher, the Slingfire, the Rhinofire, the Thunder Bow, and probably seen pix of the Cam, but there is one mystery blaster left: the "Ranger One" or "Tour Trooper".
SBNC has outlined what we know about this blaster here: SBNC's Article
1. It's similar to the Retaliator.
2. It has a priming bolt (i.e. Centurion, Longstrike, Longshot)
In addition, Rob conjectured that:
3. It's a sniper style blaster
and
4. [He doesn't] know if the barrel and shoulder stock will be removable.
That's great, but he forgot one other blaster that had a bolt, and something that wasn't sniper but had the Retaliator's plunger tube: the Vulcan and the Stampede, respectively.
Here's what my idea of what the Ranger might (should) look like:
Hey, this is practical! Hascorp can do it! Look here:
Hasbro? We're waiting! Please give us something awesome, for a change!

Stock Blaster Review: Rapidstrike CS-18
I have had a Rapidstrike for
several months now, and I have found it to be a pretty worthy
blaster.
For those of you who are
considering purchasing one, the Rapidstrike is a full-auto, fly-wheel
blaster made with the intent of being a SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon).
Capacity
As a SAW, the 18-dart mag it comes
with vanishes really quickly, and seems to only whet its appetite.
In my opinion, Hasbro should have equipped it with a 25-dart drum, or
even better: a 35-dart drum.
When used as an assault rifle,
however, it's like bringing a katana to a knife fight. 18 darts is plenty when you're actually aiming and firing in bursts
(Usable capacity: 8/10)
Accuracy
Also, its accuracy is less than
superb. At range, at least. Up close, it is deadly accurate. The
reason that the long-range shots aren't as accurate is that the darts
fishtail through the air, and wobble as they fly.
[All fly-wheel blasters have this self-same problem, so it's pretty accurate given the 'wheels.]
[All fly-wheel blasters have this self-same problem, so it's pretty accurate given the 'wheels.]
(Close accuracy: 8.5/10)
(Range accuracy: 7/10)
Range
This leads us to range. I'm not
talking about arc ranges that are advertised on the box, I'm talking
about the flat ranges. They say that it can reach 75 ft, but that's
at a 45° arc. From the
shoulder, aimed straight at somebody, the darts hit dirt at around 45
ft.
(Effective range: 7.5/10)
Rate of Fire
This is fun part of the
Rapidstrike: like with the Stampede, Vulcan, Swarmfire, and Nitron;
you can just pull the trigger back and rock-n-roll. Apart from the
Vulcan (Or Havok-Fire), the Rapidstrike has the highest stock ROF.
Granted, el twitcho with a Stryfe, Rayven, or Hailfire can get
slightly much better ROF, but he had to mod his blaster to get rid of the
dart-tooth and several locks; and his trigger finger's gotta grow hecka thick calluses. The Rapidstrike doesn't need any modding to have awesome ROF, but to have ΓΌber-epic
ROF, and range, all you have to do is rewire it and shove in OP
batteries.
(ROF: 10/10)
Modding Potential
As I said, it's not too hard to
mod the Rapidstrike. What you'll need are pliers, wire cutters, a
soldering iron, wire, and solder, along with a Longshot barrel-extension barrel. Boom! Peacekeeper!
(Modding Potential: 10/10)
Overall Ratings
The Rapidstrike is a good power
weapon, meant for mid-range slaughter, and excellent at what it does.
Mods for this are easy, and make it a little better, but the
accuracy at range leaves a bit to be desired.
